Referencing Guides
Referencing is the way you acknowledge the sources that you have used to research and write your essay. You must reference every idea, piece of information, or quotation that is not your own. Referencing is a crucial aspect of essay writing and it is necessary to demonstrate the depth and breadth of the research that you have conducted to complete your assignment.
Elite Editing & Tutoring can check and correct your references as a part of the essay editing process. However, it is very important that you learn to use at least one referencing system correctly.
For more information about the importance of referencing, please visit the University of New South Wales website on plagiarism and academic integrity.
Below are links to referencing guides for the most common referencing systems.
Cambridge Referencing Guide from the University of Melbourne.
Harvard Referencing Guide from the University of Melbourne.
Chicago Referencing Guide from the University of Chicago Press.
APA Referencing Guide from the American Psychological Association.
